Gerard Way is doing what?!? With who?!? There are rumors floating all across the internets about Gerard Way’s mystery project. Here are some of the rumors AND predictions. Some of these are only found right here on TheUmbrellaAcademy.com – a place for fans.
- Gerard is going to put out something next year that’s “totally different from Umbrella Academy, and he’s “very excited about it.”
- He’s going to be working on it with another writer… Mikey?
- And wants Gabriel Bá to do the artwork
- Mikey just put out an 8-page story for DC Universe and plans on “doing even more comic book work in the near future: He mentioned collaborating with his brother and says he’s bounced a few ideas off of [Jim] Lee, too.
- Jim Lee did a cover for The Umbrella Academy: Dallas and is also Mikey’s friend.
- A few weeks ago, Gerard was “talking comics” with Mikey.
- One commenter swears it’s going to be “The Black Rider.” Which I think is quite possible considering it’s so Gerard Way-ish: the theme, the music, the art, the Tim Burton-esque feel of it all – Also involves music and theater which Gerard has shown interest in previously.
- My Chemical Romance recorded a Bob Dylan cover song for the upcoming film-based-on-the-comic Watchmen.
- I feel like I forgot some. I’ll post an update if that’s the case. So long…

I don’t know what Gerard’s mystery project is, but I bet is going to be awesome.
I think that there is going to be a movie involving the Umbrella Academy or even about it or maybe even an Umbrella Academy Movie. That would be so cool! I would so watch that! I heard rumors about it too.
I’m pretty sure it could be another comic series..maybe something involving breakfast monkey?
because he said it’s something “totally different from Umbrella Academy”, so that’s not the movie (which I’ve read up, and apparently Universal Pictures is looking into doing it).
I’m excited to see what he’s got up his sleeve.
