The Umbrella Academy got me to walk into comic book stores again. I love Number 5 because he is a very mysterious character and I find that he is hiding something. I’d love to find out what that something is!

I bought The Apocalypse Suite at Barnes and Noble. You can get The Apocalypse Suite at any bookstore that sells comic book books (If that makes any sense)
Also, the issuse can be found at any comic book store or online. They are also available, sometimes, ato Hot Topic as well.
Absolutely Fan-tastic. May 5, I read the Free Comic Book day issue, “…But time ain’t through with you.” and loved every god [damn] word and creative illustration. Working at a small comic book shop as my college job, I was the first to open every box of Wednesday pick-ups of the Umbrella Academy, first to buy them, then first to go on break to read the issue at hand. [Lame joke.] I just picked up my Apocalypse Suite Graphic novel, and being I was very impressed, I can’t wait till I can pull the next creative, playful, mesmerizing issue out of a Wednesday-pick-up box. Great work.
Hey Gerard I think your comic book is amazing, and I don’t want this to seem like every other comment you get. My brother went to the local comic store and got the first comic for me, and now so far the first 6 hang on my wall
Also I have the patch on my back pack, and I have the pins somewhere in my room hahaha. But I used to be like really into comics, and every comic now a days are just manga, not saying they’re bad but they’re not great, and ever since your comic came I was back into liking comic books again. Thanks and I hope you keep doing what you love!

Wow I LOVED the first series of TUA. I didn’t only get these comic books because im a huuuuuuuuge comic book fan..but yeah the main reason i spent almost all my savings to order these all the way from somewhere in New Jersey (I live in the UK) because they were written by Gerard Way. Don’t call me a fan girl or anything because I AM NOT by any means. He is an amazing singer and way too beautiful for his own good but I heard all the reviews and commment these series were getting and decided to see for myself. I thought the storyline was addicting almost immediatly after opening the first cover. The drawings and colors are perfect to fit the style of the comic book and the characters are totally unique and different. I thought The Umbrella Academy is probably the greatest superhero comic book I have ever read and I cannot WAIT for the second series to come out ANNNNNNND MCR’s new album. Amazing work to the guys xoxo

amazing artwork by gabriel ba! gerard way has a penchant for off center humor which really makes the umbrella academy quite special. the characters are all complex, never a dull moment.

Man these people are funny to read!!!(if that makes any sense at all) But im sick of hering about mcr! It is my favorite band and it is the reson why i started reading these series, but the umbrella academy is a great all by itself!! The artwork is amazing!!! Im an artist, and i wish i could draw like gerard AND Gabriel so much and it bugs me that i can’t!!And even though i havn’t met the guy, gerard seems like such an imaginative person! I wish i could talk to him, just 1 conversation to talk about what he was thinking when he comes up with this stuff! The creativity blows my mind! And even though im alot younger than him i wish i could have at least 5% of the creativity this guy has! He is an amazing artist and i hope i can meet him one day!!!

honestly, i lost faith in g over the years. my favorite cd was and always will be i brought you my bullets. i was pretty skeptical when i thought about adding umbrella academy to my reading list but while i was browsing the comic book store near my house i glanced upon the apocalypse suite graphic novel. feeling nostalgic for middle school when i first discovered the band, i skimmed through it expecting jokes and a rock star’s side project. what i found what so much better! it actually was a serious comic, and although the titles of the comics are always very song-title esque, it seems they fit. i love the characters and the dialogue and mostly everything about it. it’s not just ah let’s save the world and be manly, there’s actual character conflict and drama that’s not cliche or cheesy. great job g & g and to everyone else who makes this masterpiece possible! [don't forget guys, gerard isn't the only matermind behind these works of genius!]

Ok, that last guy can kiss my ass. Who cares if it’s mcr, comic book, or are, it’s all Gerard. So like screw you! I’m sure he likes to hear the comments no matter wat they say about the band or whatever. Of course you should leave something about the comics. I’m sorry, but I havn’t read much on them. My bad, I just got internet so I’ll be busy posting comments, writting fan fiction, (for fun, cause I can write my own stuff), and posting my own art on the web. Could I get a few good sites where I can get a deal on some of the Umbrella Academy series of comics. I’m looking forward to reading them. My mom’s going to buy me a jacket like Gerard wore in the black parade. I’m sooooo excited. I went crazy over a tie last week and decided to look good for school. The Umbrella Academy is one of the coolest comics I’ve read, which is saying alot considering how many comics I’ve actually read! mucho kudos
I never seem to know what to exactly say, but when I read the Umbrella Academy the words seem to surface in my mind. I am engrossed with such an exstacy of excitement and interest while reading your comics that I can almost never put them down without finishing the comic. The whole story is so well put together, and the creativity within the artwork sends my mind into the revolving world of the story itself. I can’t wait for the hopefully ongoing series to unfold.
I hope I didn’t sound like a million other fans before me.

So, #5. What’s up with him? And did you notice that, in the Apocalypse suite that, when he was in the future as an old man, there is a dress mannequin (much like his “mother”) that he talks to? Haven’t quite put that together, yet.
Also, haven’t read Dallas #4 yet. Have you?
I’m just really impressed at the overall freshness of the comic series and the unexpected success of the second story arc. Honestly after the White Violin went off the deep end and Rumor lost her power, I sort of thought Way and Ba had set themselves up for a dead end.
But, damn. I’m kinda crushing on #5. Seriously, he’s like so talented and cute and I’m just really happy for him.
(I really am looking forward to seeing where his story is taking us, though.)

I must admit, I had higher expectations for the first issue. Gerard’s always been a theatrical person, and it seems like he always wants to start things off with a BANG!
However, after reading the first issue, I was left confused, unsure, and a little worried if the rest of it would be like this.
Needless to say, Gerard and Gabriel came through. The artwork is, needless to say, cleanly messy, and Gerard’s story-telling weaved together to make perfect sense. I reread the first issue, and now that I get almost everything, I can relax and enjoy it a bit more.
All I can say now is that I can’t wait until I can get my hands on more issues. I really need to find a comic book shop in my town. And anyone who seems unsure of whether to read it or not, read it. Not because it’s made by ‘oh ehm gee GERARD of My CHEM RoManCe!’, but because the story’s unique, which shows as a reflection from MCR’s music, the artwork is nice, and overall, it’s a good comic book series.

Working at a comic book shop [4color Fantasies], I see the array of comic books that stocks the shelves every week. If I had to refer one comic book every month, it would be Umbrella Academy, with it’s rich dialogue, winding story, and grasping art, it stands there among the best. I’m the first to buy the comic every morning, first to read it on my block, and first to close the cover being satisfied every month. From a comic book writer, lover, and seller-Two Thumbs up for Umbrella Academy.

I love these comics they’re so addicting and I love Gee Way and the band so that just makes these comics so much better, he has such an amazing talent and I’m happy that he does this and his music because it’s all amazing and I can’t wait to read the next one adn see MCR in concert next time with a new album, I LOVE THEIR DESOLATION ROW VERSIION AMAZING!!!!

i never used to read comics, then i read the umbrella academy becuase i love mcr, and once i read it, i said, “holy fuck, what the hell have i been missing out on,” now i’m hooked on comics, also, “the seance” may very well be the greatest character from anything, ever.

The Umbrella Academy was the first comic I ever read, that started me reading Watchmen, and that started me on reading tons of other comics. Now I’m completely addicted to comics!
I love graphics novels and comics; v for vendetta= awesome, the watchmen is terribly drawn in my opinion but brilliantly written xD but the umbrella academy is my favorate… i love it =D … although i hate how wereever i read about it MCR pops up etc… gerard wanted to keep them both seperate lets grant his wishes eh =]
